What is Sriracha?
Sriracha is an extremely popular chili sauce that tastes delicious with just about any savory dish. While versions of Sriracha have existed for many years, it recently gained notoriety in the U.S. through its production by Huy Fong Sriracha. Today, Huy Fong is still the most popular Sriracha brand and our favorite. We especially love Sriracha with eggs or as an ingredient in recipes like this aioli or our Spicy Kewpie Mayo.
Ingredients
- Mayonnaise - Mayo is the base for the Sriracha aioli. We prefer kewpie mayo for this recipe because it has a rich umami flavor and creamy consistency.
- Sriracha - Sriracha sauce adds a hint of heat without overpowering the aioli.
- Garlic - Fresh garlic adds the quintessential aroma to the mayo.
- Kosher salt or sea salt - Salt accentuates the other sauce ingredients.
- Freshly ground black pepper - Black pepper gives the aioli a light spicy kick.
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
- Whisk Ingredients - Add mayonnaise, Sriracha, and garlic to a medium or small bowl and whisk until combined.
- Season - Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Chill then serve - Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Hint: If you are making this with a dish like our Cajun Fries or Roasted Asparagus with Parmesan you can mix the ingredients for the aioli while the other dish cooks to save time.
