Why You'll Love Wraps and Burritos

    • Taste - The tortilla is mild and the filling is customizable.
    • Texture - The tortilla is soft and the filling can be anything from creamy to crunchy.
    • Effort - All you need to do is make your filling then fold according to our instructions. It's super simple.

    Key Ingredients

Ingredients to wrap a burrito or tortilla wrap, large tortilla and your favorite burrito or wrap fillings.
    • Tortilla - We like flour tortillas for their signature mild flavor.
    • Filling - Some of our favorites are tuna and chicken salad. But other fillings like meat, beans, and veggies will also be great!

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Substitutions and Variations

    • Tortilla - These instructions should work for other types of tortillas including gluten-free or whole wheat. Corn tortillas can sometimes break apart easily.
    • Lettuce Wraps - Instead of a tortilla wrap, check out our healthy chicken salad lettuce cups.

    How to Fold a Burrito

How to fold a burrito or a tortilla wrap, add filling in the center, fold in the tortilla sides, fold up the bottom of the tortilla toward the center.
    • Warm the tortilla - For a more pliable wrap, warm the tortilla slightly. Warm the tortilla in a pan on low, in the microwave on a microwave-safe plate, or in the oven covered with foil until warm.
    • Add the filling - Place the warmed tortilla on a clean flat surface and add a scoop of your favorite fillings in the center. (Photo 1 and 2)
    • Roll the wrap - Using both hands, fold the outer edges of the tortilla inward, over the filling, about 1-2 inches. Then roll the bottom edge of the tortilla up tightly, tucking in the filling as you go. (Photo 3 and 4)
How to fold a burrito or a tortilla wrap, tuck the edge of tortilla over the filling and roll, tightening along the way, then cut in half and enjoy.
    • Tuck and roll - Tuck and roll the wrap or burrito closed until the seam is facing down. (Photo 5, 6, and 7)
    • Enjoy - Enjoy whole or cut in half and dig in! (Photo 8)

    Top Tips

    • Don’t overfill the tortilla! This will make it hard to roll and it will lose its shape. We recommend using a ½ cup of filling for an 8-inch tortilla and ¾-1 cup of filling for a 10-inch tortilla.
    • Warm the tortilla to make it more pliable and easy to roll.
    • Careful with wet ingredients. If using wet ingredients, such as beans, use a slotted spoon to scoop the ingredients and tap the spoon on the edge of the bowl to shake off any excess moisture. Too much moisture will cause the tortilla to fall apart.

    Notes

    Storage
    • Storage will depend in the filling. But wraps and burritos are best enjoyed fresh. If you have leftover wrap or burrito, refrigerate in an air-tight container then enjoy within 1 day or the tortilla will get soggy.
    Wrap Tips
    • Don’t overfill the tortilla or it will be hard to roll and it will lose its shape. We recommend using a ½ cup of filling for an 8-inch tortilla and ¾-1 cup of filling for a 10-inch tortilla.
    • Warm the tortilla to make it more pliable and easy to roll.
    • Be careful with wet ingredients because they can make the tortilla fall apart easily. If using wet ingredients like as beans, use a slotted spoon to scoop the ingredients and tap the spoon on the edge of the bowl to shake off any excess moisture.
