Croffles (Croissant Waffles) are buttery, crispy treats made in a waffle iron in under 5 minutes. Customize your croissant-waffle hybrid with savory or sweet fillings, from cheese to Nutella. They're family-friendly and a great on-the-go snack!
Stuff crescent rolls - Roll out the crescent dough or puff pastry on a clean, dry cutting board. Add about a tablespoon of Nutella to each piece of dough and add sliced banana or diced strawberries, if desired. Carefully roll each triangle, starting with the wide edge of the dough and roll up to the tip of the triangle. Press a few pieces of pearl sugar onto the tops and bottoms of each croissant. The pearl sugar is optional but it gives the waffles a caramelized flavor and texture. For other filling ideas, please see recipe notes.
1 8 oz package crescent rolls, 8 tablespoon Nutella, 1 cup strawberries or fresh fruit of choice, 1 cup pearl sugar
Cook - Brush oil or non-stick cooking spray on the hot waffle iron. Place the croissants on the iron and close the iron. Waffle irons have varying capacities. We recommend cooking one croissant for each waffle compartment. For a waffle iron with a capacity of one waffle, cook one crescent roll at a time. Cook the croffles for 3-4 minutes or until the outside is golden.
Serve - Remove the croffles from the iron and serve immediately. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Top Tips
Only use an oil or cooking spray with a high smoke point (e.g. avocado oil, vegetable oil, grapeseed oil) to prepare the waffle iron. Butter will burn the iron and the croffles.
Make sure your waffle iron is completely heated before adding the crescent rolls. If the waffle iron isn't hot enough, the croffles will be soggy.
Don't overstuff the crescent rolls or it will spill out on the waffle iron.
If you cook multiple batches, place the finished croffles on a baking sheet in the oven at 200°F. This will keep them hot while you cook the other batches.
