Shirred Eggs (Baked Eggs)

Shirred Eggs are creamy, yolky baked eggs nestled in a cozy bed of golden shallots, fragrant herbs, and melted parmigiano-reggiano.

Step 1

Make herb mixture (optional) - Warm butter in pan.

Step 2

Saute shallots then stir in rosemary and thyme.

Step 3

Melt butter in each ramekin.

Step 4

Add heavy cream then eggs.

Step 5

Add herb mixture then bake for about 9 minutes.

Step 6

Remove eggs from oven then top with cheese and bake for 2 more min.

Step 7

Top with sliced chives and enjoy with baguette.
