Spam Musubi with Egg

Step 1

Cook rice on stovetop or in rice cooker.

Step 2

Make teriyaki sauce - whisk soy sauce, sake, mirin, and brown sugar in mixing bowl.

Step 3

Cut Spam into 8 slices.

Step 4

Cook Spam slices for 3-5 min, flipping halfway through. Add teriyaki sauce and cook for 1-2 min.

Step 5

Cook eggs - Whisk eggs, sugar, mirin, and shoyu in a bowl. Then cook for 5-7 minutes.

Step 6

Place nori shiny side down on cutting board then place musubi mold in the center of nori sheet.

Step 7

Scoop rice into mold to about ¾ inch high.

Step 8

Sprinkle furikake on top of rice, then add single layer of egg, then Spam.

Step 9

Gently push down on Spam with musubi press to compact the rice.

Step 10

Remove mold and tightly wrap nori over the musubi.

Step 11

Slice in half to create 2 musubis and enjoy!
