Crunchy Spicy California Roll

Step 1

Make Japanese rice on a stovetop or in rice cooker.

Step 2

Make sushi rice - Season cooked rice with rice vinegar then let rice cool.

Step 3

Toast panko on stovetop until golden brown.

Step 4

Make spicy kewpie mayo.

Step 5

Combine spicy kewpie mayo and imitation crab

Step 6

Gently spread rice on nori.

Step 7

Sprinkle panko on top of rice and press it down so it sticks

Step 8

Add kani mixture, cucumber, and avocado then roll long side of nori over to touch other side.

Step 9

Shape roll - Place bamboo mat on top of roll and gently squeeze.

Step 10

Slice roll into 8 pieces and top with toasted panko.

Step 11

Serve with shoyu and wasabi.
